All Natural Dishwashing Powder

I don’t remember exactly where I got this recipe, or else I would surely give credit where it’s due. But I started making this dishwashing powder about 5 years ago in an effort to reduce my family’s exposure to household chemicals. A couple years before, while my kids were all in diapers, we decided we were going to go as natural as possible and began the process of ridding our house of as many chemicals as we could. We found this recipe and have been using it ever since.

All the ingredients are natural and are as follows:

1 part borax

1 part washing soda

1/2 part citric acid crystals

1/2 part coarse salt

I usually just shake it up in recycled coffee tin and mix it up again a couple hours later and the next day just to prevent lumps from forming and there you go.
